Can I have lodgers in my home?

Have a spare bedroom? You can take in lodgers as long as it doesn’t result in your home becoming overcrowded.  You don’t need our permission to take in a lodger but you will need to fill in an additional occupant form here.

Remember, you’re responsible for the conduct of any lodgers or visitors to your home. You can find out more about lodging and any legal requirements here: www.citizensadvice.org.uk/housing/renting-a-home/subletting-and-lodging/lodging.
