Alan Brunt announces his retirement as Bron Afon’s Chief Executive.

After more than eight years of dedicated service, Alan Brunt, Chief Executive at Bron Afon Community Housing, has announced his plans for retirement.

He will step down at the end of January 2026.Alan has led Bron Afon since March 2017, guiding the organisation through a period of significant change across the communities it serves. Bron Afon believes everyone should have a place they are proud to call home. A passionate advocate for everyone’s right to a good quality, safe, warm home, Alan has played a pivotal role in helping shape the organisation into a sustainable business with a strong customer focus, driven by this vision. Alan said: “During the last eight years, it’s been wonderful to work with communities and colleagues on a wide range of projects and see how far we have come together. I have enjoyed working in Torfaen with so many great partners, it’s been a privilege to meet and work with so many dedicated people.

“I am sure that Bron Afon will go on to have an even greater impact and create more opportunities for our communities in the future.”Commenting on the news of Alan’s retirement, Chair of the Board Craig Nowell said: “Through his committed and pragmatic leadership, Alan has been unwavering in his commitment for Bron Afon to play a key role in being part of the long-term solution to the housing crisis. He will retire early next year with our sincere appreciation and gratitude for all he has achieved.

“Alan is going to be missed by very many people, and for many reasons, and I personally would like to wish him a long, healthy and fulfilling retirement.

“We will shortly begin the recruitment process to this role and have appointed Gatenby Sanderson to manage this. It’s a fantastic opportunity for someone to build on existing achievements, leading Bron Afon to new success and a sustainable future, supported by a robust Board and senior leadership team, and a highly motivated workforce.”
