Work experience

If you would like work experience in a great organisation then look no further!

Since 2008 we have supported placements for tenants, local residents, students from schools, colleges and universities. We have staff who work in a variety of different jobs and who are more than happy to help share their skills.

Learn a little bit about some of the teams where you could do work experience


Our friendly finance team are more than happy to help show you how finance works for business. They deal with annual accounts, rent payments, budgeting and paying our bills.


Our ICT team deal with our computers and building systems we use in the office such as our Customer Management System. No day is the same and the team love sharing their experience and knowledge.


The amazing community housing team cover a wide area and range of work. They are the people who look after our tenants and residents. The work they do helps to improve the lives of the people who live in our homes and communities.


Our fantastic and caring support team help many different people of all ages in our community from the over 50s to young people moving into their first home.

Property and Development

This is the team who repair and improve the homes of our tenants. We also have a team who are helping us build 450 homes  by 2023.

This is just a short list of the exciting opportunities and work we carry out.There are many more teams and jobs where you could spend time.

Helpful information

How do I arrange work experience?

You can contact us and have a chat or you can fill out this work placement application form.

How long will my placement last?

We are very flexible but you can come and have a work placement for us to six months. Your work is reviewed on a regular basis so we can check you are getting the best out of us.

Will I get paid?

No. Our work experience and placements are voluntary. You might not get a monetary reward but you will gain new skills, knowledge and experience.

Will this lead to a job or apprenticeship?

No, but we do have a wide range of other opportunities that you could get involved with including our job club that has featured on BBC news, or our inspirational That Works Academy that teaches you a skill along with help to improve your CV. It also offers training programmes and accredited learning that could lead to you getting a job or apprenticeship in any organisation.

What is expected of me?

When you do work experience with us you become part of our team. These are the expectations we have of all our staff:

  • Being polite, respectful and non judgemental.
  • Maintaining confidentiality.
  • Turning up on time, or contacting us if you cannot make it.
  • Completing any work to a high standard and on time.
  • Showing commitment and interest in your placement .
