Membership of Bron Afon is free and open to all tenants, leaseholders and homeowners living in Torfaen.

What can I get involved in?
We have lots of ways to get involved with the work we do, there is something to suit everyone. Here are some opportunities to give you a taster of the variety available:
Complaints Learning Forum
Our aim is to provide a good service at all times to our customers, but sometimes things do go wrong.
So if you’re able to dedicate six of your evenings a year to the Complaints Learning Forum, then you can help us learn how to do things better in the future.
Afon Youth – Giving young people a voice
We are looking for young people who are passionate about getting involved in topics that matter to them! Afon Youth take the lead on a range of interesting projects so If you are aged between 11-25 and want to make a difference, then get involved.
Equality and Diversity Reference group
No matter who you are, we want to make sure that you have the same opportunities in life as everyone else.
To help shape how we make this happen both now and in the future, then join our Equality and Diversity Reference Group.
There are fantastic things going on that make you proud to live in your community, and we need Community Journalists to help tell those stories.
You could help us to do this, using your words and pictures to shine a spotlight on the good deeds and work going on in your community.
Want to get involved but can’t get to meetings?
Sign up to be a Virtual Voice and we will contact you online so it’s simple and quick to share your views from your computer, tablet or smartphone.
At the Mutual Futures meeting our members and staff all have an equal voice, with opportunities to discuss how Bron Afon should be run. Plus, there’s a chance to ask the board and senior managers questions about our performance.

Tenant services forum
As one of our customers, you are best placed to help us look at what we’re doing right, what we could do better, and what would have the biggest benefit on your life and on those around you.
The Tenant Services Forum is your opportunity to share your thoughts and to help us come up with ideas to make Bron Afon work better for you.
We’re always keen to talk to people who enjoy challenging how things are done and can spot ways to make Bron Afon better.
The Scrutiny Team is set up to do just that, meeting once a month for a deep dig into our services. Your recommendations will change the way Bron Afon does things!
As a leaseholder you’ll find many easy ways to have your say on the policies and procedures that affect you.
We also offer help, guidance and training to assist any leaseholder to develop as landlords
Setting up a community group can be scary, but it’s also incredibly exciting and enables you to make a real difference.
Big or small, the contributions of your group will benefit the wider community around you, and we’ll give you the support, guidance and training you’ll need to help you and your community to reach its goals.
Afon Retirement Forum
If you want to make sure that our services are right, or help us improve, then come along and join our Afon Retirement Forum.
It’s a friendly group of tenants and residents, aged over 55, who are always glad to see new members.
The board set the strategic direction for Bron Afon and is accountable to our members. The board is made up of four independent member, four tenant member and four councillors.
Community involvement is at the heart of what we do and together we can make a difference!
