“I helped out at the St Dials Ward Community Group Party in the Park on Sunday 15 July. The sun was shining and the selection of stalls meant there was something for everyone. I was amazed by the massive turnout, and it was really great to see community brought together.
“We had an environmental stall with Torfaen Council and Fly Tipping Action Wales. There was a lot of interest in the work we do. Steve was on hand to help promote our Love Where We Live form, lots of people told me how quick and simple it is to use and saves them contacting us.
“Fly Tipping Action Wales had a very busy day and spoke to about 30 people who didn’t know that they are responsible for their waste even if they pay someone else to deal with it for them.
“One resident said, ‘I am appalled at the fly-tipping in my area….I make sure I take my own waste to the local tip or ask the council, so I don’t have to rely on others’ to take my waste away. You never know where your waste could end up!’
“I had a great day helping out and chatting to the residents in my community, it was really nice to hear their positive feedback. I’m looking forward to the next one.”
