How to pay your rent

You can use any one of these methods to pay your rent:

  • By using our new Rent Payment Card.  You can use it in 65 shops in the local area and 1000s across the UK.   This includes any Post Office.  Look out for the PayPoint sign.  All you have to do is hand your card and payment to the cashier and you will be given a receipt.  Details on how to use the card to pay by phone, text and the internet will be sent to you.

Follow this link for a list of frequently asked questions relating to the Rent Payment Card.

  • At any one of Bron Afon’s housing offices located at:

- 34 Bailey Crescent, Garndiffaith.
- Fairwater Square, Fairwater.
- 7 Maendy Square, West Pontnewydd.

These offices are open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 8.30am – 5.00pm, Wednesday 8.30am – 12.30pm (closed on Wednesday afternoon), Friday 8.30am – 4.30pm.

Cash payments and all other financial transactions will only be accepted up to 15 minutes before close of office.

  • At any one of the Council’s Customer Care Centres and One Stop Shops. These offices are located at:

 - 1-2 General Rees Square, Cwmbran.
 - Civic Centre, Pontypool.
 - Church Avenue, Trevethin.
 - 7-12 Lion Court, Lion Street, Blaenavon.

  • On line or by telephone (see 'Easier Ways to Pay' section below).
  • By Direct Debit (please ring us on freephone 0800 111 42 42).
  • By post (cheques and postal orders only) to:

        Bron Afon Community Housing
        Tŷ Bron Afon
        William Brown Close
        Llantarnam Industrial Park
        Cwmbran
        Torfaen
        NP44 3AB

At present, cheques and postal orders should be made payable to Torfaen County Borough Council.

Easier Ways to Pay

Did you realise that you can still pay Bron Afon without the need to leave your home? If you have a credit or debit card you can either:

  • Call the automated telephone payments line on 0845 8500 855 and follow  the simple instructions to pay your rent.
  • Visit Torfaen County Borough Council's website www.torfaen.gov.uk and follow the links on the left of the screen to Online Services.

All you'll need is your debit or credit card and the Housing Rent reference (as stated on the front of your Rent Card).

Because these services are operated by the Council, you are not only assured that the transactions are secure but you can also use them to pay the Council (e.g. Council Tax and invoices).

As an alternative, you can speak to a Customer Services Officer by calling 01495 766002 (8:00am to  6:00pm weekdays).  They will be happy to process the payment for you.
