During prolonged periods of ice and snow, 
Bron Afon will follow and support Torfaen 
Council’s winter maintenance plan.
 
What this means
 
Bron Afon’s resources will be used to 
support the Council’s winter maintenance 
operations. The Council will lead these operations 
and direct resources in support of the plan.

As a general rule, we will not conduct gritting or snow clearance to roads or footways outside of the Council's plan.
A `self help` scheme has been made available, which provides snow shovels and grit to groups keen to help 
their community deal with `hot spot`areas of ice and snow.  The scheme is limited and based on a first come, first served basis, as stocks last.

We will endeavour to maintain the entrances and exits of our offices and retirement housing blocks. 
If you are likely to be made vulnerable during these periods, please contact Torfaen Council on 01495 762 200.
Emergency building repairs will be undertaken on a priority, reactive basis and as resources and weather conditions allow.
