Private homeowners in Torfaen can insulate their homes for less money thanks to Bron Afon Community Housing. One thousand tenants’ homes are currently being fitted with cavity and wall insulation which will can save up to £160 a year on heating bills in the average home. The contractor doing the work on behalf of Bron Afon has agreed to give a discount to private homeowners.
Duncan Forbes, Chief Executive of Bron Afon, said: “We want to make our tenants’ homes more energy efficient to help them save money on their heating bills. But as part of our commitment to investing in communities across Torfaen, we have negotiated a deal with our contractor so private homeowners can also benefit through a discount for living in Torfaen. There are also government grants available to pay towards this work if you live in an eligible household.”
